The FK8 intercooler's performance is not enough to handle the amount of heat generated, so even in a fully stock condition, the intake temperature reaches 50 to 60°C at high revolutions of over 6000 RPM. *At an outside temperature of approximately 25°C The main causes are: ・The turbine generates a lot of heat due to the high output of the turbo ・Insufficient capacity of the cooler core and problems with the fins ・The wind does not easily escape while driving ・Heat does not easily flow through the piping and intercooler, etc. In addition to engine cooling measures such as thermostats, sports coolants, and aero parts, by increasing the intercooler capacity = increasing the heat exchange rate and improving the turbine flow speed, it is possible to obtain stable output at higher revolutions and achieve a significant increase in output. J'SRACING started joint development with DRL (Daiwa Radiator Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) to develop an intercooler. In addition to the output test by Dynapack, we also conducted actual driving tests on the circuit and street, and made fitting adjustments to create a product that can be easily replaced with the genuine product without any major modifications. As a result, in a fully normal state, the cooling effect is about 5°C or more at the lowest intake temperature and about 15°C or more at the highest intake temperature! ! ! In addition, by making it lightweight, we have minimized the weight increase of the front overhang, where the intercooler is installed, and minimized the impact on the overall performance. It is compatible with not only genuine turbines, but also cars with big turbine kits. *A stencil plate with the J'SRACING logo is included. Remarks | ●For Civic Type R FK8 models from September 2017 to July 2021, vehicle number FK8-1000001 onwards ●With standard ECU data, stable output can be achieved at high RPMs, but a large increase in output cannot be expected due to limiter control. If you wish to achieve a greater power increase, we recommend installing the FK8 HYPER-ECU option for intercooler (N-K8-ICR). If you have already installed our HYPER-ECU, you can update to the FK8 HYPER-ECU option for intercooler (N-K8-ICR) for an additional option fee + installation fee. |
