■ FEATURES: In contrast to the stock fine-grained ceramic catalyst, this product uses a low-density metal catalyst. Both the first and second catalysts are 150-cell specifications, which significantly reduces exhaust resistance. By adopting a cell with an optimized proportion of precious metals in the first catalyst section with the minimum necessary size, we have achieved both purification performance and reduced exhaust pressure, and have obtained an exhaust gas certificate from a third-party organization. The first catalyst part is designed so that a genuine heat shield can be attached as a countermeasure against heat damage*. The pipe diameter is φ70 for the stock φ70, but this product uses φ75. We were particular about the appearance by applying buffing and using TIG welding for all welding.

With only the catalyst replaced, the maximum output is increased by 7.8 [kW] (10.6 [PS]) and the maximum torque is increased by 19.5 [Nm] (1.99 [kgf・m]). Maximum output difference: 14.9 [kW] (20.3 [PS]) / 5200 [rpm], Maximum torque difference: 26.6 [Nm] (2.71 [kgf・m]) / 5300 [rpm] The combination of this product and the Super Turbo Muffler (31029-AT006) increases the maximum output by 13.8 [kW] (18.8 [PS]) and the maximum torque by 30.8 [Nm] (3.14 [kgf・m]).

As for the change in volume, if only the catalyst is replaced, there is not much change numerically from the stock one, but the sound quality will change from the treble. Comparison of frequencies during proximity exhaust noise measurement shows that the stock catalyst peaks at 400 Hz, but the HKS catalyst peaks at 500 Hz, resulting in a higher exhaust sound than the stock catalyst.The combination of this product and the Super Turbo Muffler (31029-AT006) has a proximity exhaust noise value of 88 dB, which is a generous value compared to the safety standard value of 96 dB, so you can use it with confidence. The sound quality is more emphasized at 500 Hz, and the bass range below 200 Hz is also emphasized, so you can enjoy a more powerful exhaust sound.
